Personal venting through art is always good, but in this particular case it was a bit too much so I opted to tone it down and use other people's characters.

In September when my video card went out the window, I spent a lot of time replaying The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, and the moments between Link and his grandmother were very emotional for me due to the passing of my own grandmother 6 months beforehand.

Trying to get back into the habit of figure drawing regularly.

I'm still drifting along on a certain personal project.  Sometimes it's nice to do loose, silly stuff like this to take a break.

Have a demo reel, dear blog!  Most notably added is my senior thesis, along with two for-funsies animations I did after graduation.

Doing things for people?

A friend of mine wanted me to design some buttons for her dad's ghost/paranormal group thing he does.  Spooky things are my favorite, even if the way I draw tends to lend itself to cute more than scary.

My parents' church was making some sort of rosary thing, and they gave my parents things to do, so they passed them off to me.

Canvas Curse

Sometimes you just wanna animate someone else's characters for a few seconds, y'know?

I've always really loved the Kirby series of games, given their bright and vivid colors, cute cast of characters, and sometimes surprisingly macabre enemies and bosses.

I'm still alive and kicking, I've just been trying to make some short animations to spice up my demo reel so it's not mostly my thesis before I send it around.

Nostalgiarok

Lately I've been feeling pretty intense nostalgia for Ragnarok Online, an online game my good pal Tristan and I used to play all the time together while we were both growing up.  I have a lot of fond memories playing with him.  And so I've decided to take a page from his book and turn that nostalgia into some art!  I want to make a mini animation, and so I tried simplifying the character designs for my own purposes.

My friends and I watched Arashi no Yoru ni (One Stormy Night) recently and it was such a cute movie!

Don't quit your day job.

One of my projects from my 3D class.  I made a bird (specifically, a chukar partridge).  It... was certainly a thing.  I have learned my lesson.
